Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been- Dalai Lama (A trip to Kanatal)

4th Oct 2019

It was a long weekend in month of October where I instantly planned to visit a new place with my friends. I offered proposals to a lot of friend but all of them rejected making excuses like they are already occupied, or they can't make it. I was bit disappointed but still I did not give hope. I surfed many tours and travelling site where I can plan solo trip with unknown group/ people. Finally, I finalized one of those. I booked my seat an evening before the trip. I was excited, anxious and little scared. Next morning one of my friends called me up and she said she can manage to go with me, so I checked whether the seat is available or not. One seat was available and that I booked for my friend. Now I was more excited and confident and happy.

We left for the trip around 10pm from Delhi. This was first such trip of my life. In no time, the people of our group became friends and we have a very good time travelling. None slept entire night. We kept on talking and sharing our moments. It was getting cold so at mid of the trip we paused for tea/coffee break nearby a Dhaba. We had Khullar wale chai and that was amazing. After that we headed onward. At a point we reached at such a  high point somewhere nearby Dhanaulti/ Manali and the entire Dehradun was blazed beneath our eyes. It was midnight around 3am the entire Dehradun was looking exquiste. This was such a mesmerizing view. Nearby we found a shop/ café which served Maggi and tea. Guess what?? We had the best 4am Wala Maggi with the bonfire and group of new friends. As it was extreme cold, the pleasure of the bonfire was appealing.

Then we headed to our destination “Kanatal”. Kanatal is a small village in the state of Uttarakhand. It has a very scenic surrounding by mountains and rivers, with breath-taking views and scenery. It is very less crowded by tourist. It is located at an altitude of 2600 km from Mussorie.  When we reach there, we all were deadly tired, so we headed to our camps. The camps were so beautiful and clean that we fell in love with it. We took a nap after which we were energized to make our trip successful. We all freshen up and had lunch.

Then we planned to trek to Surkhanda temple which is one of the most popular destination. First trek I did ever. Amazing episode with full of good memories. After few hrs we reached at the top of Surkhanda temple. We felt like we are on the summit of world. We could only view the clouds and clouds. After that we again had Maggie for our evening snacks as we all were dying of hunger. We watched sunset from the top and that experience can’t be noted down here. We lead the way downwards after trek and back to our camps. Bonfire along with tea and fritters were waiting for us. Evening cold, bonfire, and tea was the moment. Then we talked for hours. We had appetizing dinner and we all went to our camps and slept.

Next morning 5:30 am in the morning. I was only awake because I did not want to miss the sunrise view that shower its rays on the Himalayan range. I woke up, packed up myself in woolen clothes and left the room. I clicked pictures and made memories there. I viewed the sunrise and rays of sunrise on the Himalayan range which was mesmerizing and magnificent. Then all my friend woke up, we had tea. We all freshen up for the breakfast and left the camps. We had poori sabji in our breakfast.

After that we all left the camp with our stuffs that we kept in our car. We had organized for adventurous activities which we did there. First, we went for sky bridge. It was scary and fun. After that we were ready for zip lining. Wow, Wow and Wow. Zip lining from that top was adventurous. We could view mountains, Himalaya and dense forest from there. We wished it could last a little longer. Then we packed ourselves in car back to Delhi. We had the most amazing road trip till Delhi. The views of mountains and Himalayas all over the way took the breath away.

We departed for lunch break in Dehradun. But instead of lunch we went to Guchupani. The place is worth to visit and is blessed with nature’s gift. The water flows between two rocks like a heaven. We walked with full of water for around 1 mile and we found showers from the rocks making the atmospheric rain. We came back from the rocks and enjoyed our not so favorite momos.

After that finally we headed for Delhi with some stoppage in between for snacks and refreshm

ent. After reaching back Delhi, we hugged each other biding Goodbye with a hope to stay connected and to meet in future and to make further amazing plans of trips like this.
