Rara, a gem
Nestled in the mountains,
Surrounded by verdant forests,
The crystal clear waters, inviting and serene
A peaceful retreat, far from the bustle and noise

Rara, a treasure to behold
A natural wonder, a story yet untold
A place to escape, and find inner peace
A paradise on earth...
We set off on our trip to Rara Lake and Murma Top early in the morning, leaving Kathmandu and flying to Nepalgunj. The flight was relatively short, but the views were breathtaking. We could see the beautiful landscape of Nepal unfold below us as we flew over the mountains and valleys.
After arriving in Nepalgunj, we checked into our hotel and spent the afternoon exploring the city. Nepalgunj is a bustling city with a rich history and culture, and we enjoyed roaming the streets and taking in the sights and sounds. We enjoyed a nice dinner at a local restaurant in the evening and turned in early, preparing for the amazing few days ahead.
We woke up early this morning, eager to start our journey. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we headed to Nepalgunj Airport to catch our flight to Talcha. The flight was relatively short, but the views were breathtaking. As we flew over the mountains and valleys, we could see Nepal's stunning beauty unfurl below us.
After arriving in Talcha, we began our hike to Rara Lake. The trail was a bit challenging at times, with steep inclines and rocky terrain, but the sense of accomplishment we felt when we reached our destination made it all worth it. As we hiked, we were treated to stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The air was crisp and fresh, and the sound of the wind rustling through the trees was soothing.
After a few hours of hiking, we finally arrived at Rara Lake, the largest lake in Nepal. The crystal-clear water was a sight to behold and we spent some time exploring the area and taking in the breathtaking views. After walking around the lake we stayed in a small hotel at the end of the lake. The hotel was comfortable and cozy, and we enjoyed a hearty local dinner in the hotel restaurant before turning in for the night. We also enjoyed a campfire outside the hotel, roasting the potatoes and enjoying each other's company. It was a cozy and memorable end to a long and rewarding day of hiking.
We woke up early this morning, ready to tackle the final leg of our journey. After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we set off on the hike to Murma Top. The walk was a bit more challenging today, with steep inclines and rocky terrain, but the views were even more breathtaking. As we hiked, we were treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains and hills. As we were gaining altitude, the air started to be a bit thin. We kept on pushing, as the team was determined to reach our destination at the soonest possible time. After a few hours of hiking, we finally arrived at Murma Top, where we were treated to even more stunning views of the surrounding landscape and Rara lake. We stayed there for a few hours, taking in the breathtaking views and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.
After a short rest, we started our descent back down the mountain, making our way back to Rara Lake. On the way back down, we stopped at small villages along the way, where we were welcomed with open arms by the friendly locals. We spent some time chatting with them and learning more about their way of life. It was a humbling experience that really helped us appreciate the simplicity and beauty of their way of life.
The following morning, we packed up our bags and headed back to Talcha Airport to catch our flight back to Nepalgunj. While returning to Talcha, we decided to cross the lake in a rafting boat instead of walking around it. It was a decision that definitely paid off, as the views from the boat were just as breathtaking. We took in the beauty of the surrounding mountains and forests as we drifted across the crystal-clear waters of the lake.
After some hustle and bustle in the airport, we boarded a small plane to Nepalgunj. The views of the surrounding hills, mountains, and even the lake were amazing as the plane headed south. After arriving in Nepalgunj, we went to a local restaurant and had lunch. We had been hoping to try the famous "Mubarak Biryani," but unfortunately we arrived too late and the restaurant was already closed. Despite the disappointment, we enjoyed a delicious meal and spent the afternoon relaxing and reflecting on our incredible journey.
As the day came to a close, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the amazing experiences we had on our trip. From the stunning beauty of Rara Lake and Murma Top, to the warm hospitality of the locals we met along the way, it had truly been an unforgettable adventure. Despite being exhausted, we went to bed happy and content, looking forward to the memories we had made during our journey.
In the evening, we caught a flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu, completing our journey. As we flew through the darkness around us, we were just feeling a sense of accomplishment and gratitude for the amazing experiences we had during our trip.
Overall, our trip to Rara Lake and Murma Top was an unforgettable experience. The natural beauty of Nepal is truly breathtaking and I can't wait for the next destination and explore more of this amazing country. The people we met along the way were kind and welcoming, and the sense of accomplishment we felt after completing the hike was unparalleled. It was a truly amazing adventure that I will always treasure.
