Sustainable development is all set to reach the next level with a futuristic project soon to be launched near the Arctic Circle. With its groundbreaking combination of design and environmentalism, this Norwegian hotel is set to be the world’s first energy-positive hotel.

Designed with an eye-catching architecture, Svart Hotel will use 85% less energy than a traditional hotel, in addition to producing its own energy. A collaboration between Arctic Adventure of Norway, architecture firm Snohøetta and Powerhouse, this eco-friendly project will be a milestone in creating sustainable tourist destinations.

With its beautiful location serving as an inspiration, this hotel will be in northern Norway, at the foot of the Svartisen glacier in the Meløy municipality, which is about 800 miles north of Oslo, Norway’s capital.

This low-impact hotel aims to respect the natural surroundings of this unique plot by being energy positive. Although it will open only in 2021, the zoning plan has been approved and looks very promising. Here is a look at this stunning hotel.

The shape of this hotel promises to give its guests panoramic views of the fjord.
