South in the island of Panay in the Philippines is a small island named Guimaras island. It is an escape island of the people of Iloilo because of its accessibility, proximity to the city and beauty.

To get there you'll need to ride a motor boat from Ortiz terminal if you want to get to the town of Jordan or via Parola boat terminal if your destination is the town of Buenavista. The fare varies for morning trip which is P15. 00 and P22. 00 at night. Travel time is estimated around 15 to 20 minutes.

Once you arrived in the island don't forget to register at the tourism office if you're a tourist. They will help you book for your ride if you need one or suggest different tourist spots on the island.

One of the most popular beach in the island is the Alobihod beach, you can rent a tricycle for P300. 00 or a multicab for P500.00. Travel time is around 30 to 40 minutes.

The beach has a couple of resorts in it sharing the same white sand beach front and pristine clear waters of this beautiful island.

Island hopping is one of the must do activities in this island that you should't miss. It will just cost you P700. 00 to rent a boat with 8 person capacity for an hour trip. Here you'll be able to visit sand bars, caves, floating cottages,  different rock formations and more.

And if you love mangoes, this place is heaven for you. This island boasts the sweetest mango you could ever taste, they even have their own mango festival here with "eat all you can mango contest". You heard that right, all that you can eat! 😱

If you're into roadtrips this place also recently became famous for its numerous wind turbines that supplies electricity to various provinces in Western Visayas found along the town of San Lorenzo. Mountain resorts are also a popular place with some overviewing the whole Guimaras island

There is much to do and explore in this beautiful underrated island of Guimaras. A place to enjoy, relax and be one with nature.
