Weekend Getaways from Arpora
Saturday Night market - We arrived in Goa on a Saturday so were fortune to be able to visit this market. It is anything like a market, it's more like an exhibition - Countless lanes full of food stalls, stalls selling clothes, there was even a band playing live music for entertainment.Club hopping (Part 1) - Club Cubana - Located atop Arpora Hills, it is unlike any stereotypical club, it is a three level property that has a beautiful pool area, a separate open bar area and an indoor area with a dance floor and Dj. It looks like an ethereal mansion that has been converted into a club. It is undoubtedly one of the most elite clubs in Goa. Free entry for ladies unless one visits during Christmasew year.Tito's & Mambo's - this is pretty much the first place people flock to during their first time in Goa. Located in Baga, although it has garnered a big name for itself, it has become much overrated over the years. Nevertheless, worth a visit during Christmas/New Year when they have exotic performers perform for the crowd. Free entry for ladies. At 12 am, we walked down to Baga beach and saw shacks full of people dancing and celebrating Christmas night! So much energy and cheer all around!

The Saturday Night Market
"Happening" !!! to say the least. Saturday night market near Anjuna is one of its kind. It's huge, it's bright and colorful, it's full with people from all across the globe. Must see. You get all sorts of fare, plus there are live bands playing, plus there is alcohol, plus world food ! This place is a carnival in itself. There's free parking. Go with a lot of time in hand....it starts at around 8 pm and goes uptill early morning. You should know how to haggle, incase you decide to buy.
Mainly known for the historical Chapora Fort, this is a popular beach which is about 10 kilometres from Mapusa. The other reason for the popularity of this beach is the fact that this is well accessible from other popular beaches such as Anjuna and Candolim too. There are opportunities for swimming, shopping and eating too but it is better not to spend the night here. This is because this beach area is a marked one for the people who are involved in drugs and there are other people who are involved in illegal activities during the night time as well.
A must visit party place of Goa! The 4 levels of pub, a poolside area, great DJ, bar area and view of goa from the hill. A Jeep takes you up the hill, but you can also walk 300m of steep road. If you want to sit in a nice place you have to come early. This place is just perfect to party! The couple entry is INR2k on weekends which includes unlimited alcohol (seemed diluted to me). If you are in a large group, then take VIP coupons and enjoy your drinks. Stag entry is not allowed!
Track II Go Karting
If you are an adrenaline junkie and love fast driving, then Karting is one thing not to be missed. Goa has two Karting tracks. One is in Arpora, North Goa and the other is in Nuvem-Salcette, South Goa. The track in Arpora is around 340 meters in length and it has a lot of U shaped turns and narrow stretches. This track is open from Tuesday To Sunday From 04:00 PM To 10:00 PM. Located very close to Verna, the track in Nuvem is situated at the top of the hill which couples the adrenaline rush from this adventure with a splendid panoramic view of Goan hillside nature. The length of the track is around 550 meters approximately. This track has enough curves to provide the adrenaline rush to the racing enthusiasts. The JK Tyre National Go-Karting Championship is also held in this track. The best part is that the cost for 10 laps is between 120 Rs to 200 Rs which makes it very easy on the budget.
