NIMHANS Brain Museum

This is a sprawling museum solely dedicated to medical science. The museum is a part of the very famous National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences off the Hosur Road in Bangalore. This idea was the brain child of Professor S.K. Shankar, who was a teacher of Neuropathology. They started this place first as a mere lab to educated students persuing medicine but then took the noble step of educating the public. They had to first take permission about gathering parts of the brains of dead people during autopsy and now when you enter this place you find it all set. The main motive is to show ]what difference is shown externally on our brains due to any injury or disease. The brains of people suffering from haemorrhage, schizophrenia and other accidents are shown clearly out here. Not only is this a very new and interesting experience but also very educative.
