Chandi Mata Temple

The temple of Chandi Mata (also known as Machail Mata) is located in the beautiful valley of Poddar which exists in the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir. Chandi Mata Mandir is held in immense reverence by believers. It is considered to be an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. The trek to the temple of Chandi Mata starts from Gulabgarh. It is a tough trek, as the path is 30 km in length. Vehicles are only available up till Gulabgarh, and the rest of the route has to be covered by pilgrims via the trekking route. But the length of the trek does not dampen the spirits, as a lot of visitors reach the temple every year. The pilgrimage to the Chandi Mata temple takes place in August every year. The route to the temple starts from Chinoti in Bhaderwah. The trek is scenic and is suitable for devotees as well as adventurers.
