Central and Kanakadhara Theatres

This is a group of very old buildings which were later declared as a National Heritage Site. These buildings were made by Nawab Sadat-ud-Daulah to serve as houses for the generals of the British East India Company who were posted in Lucknow during the 1800 AD. This place also has great significance in the history of India's freedom struggle. The tragic seige that took place here lasted for a couple of days and ebded the lives of countless number of people after it had ended. This marked the first formal victory of the British over the Indians.
