Shrubbery Nightingale Park

Formerly the private courtyard in front of the Bungalow of Sir Thomas Tartan and a meeting place for English women during the British Raj, the Shrubbery Nightingale Park in Darjeeling now stands as a great tourist place. The park was destroyed during an earthquake in the year 1934. It was rebuilt and began to be used as a famous Bollywood movie shooting spot during the 1950’s and 60’s. But the growing tension in the hills caused the place to be neglected. It was in 2011that the park was given facelift and restored to its former glory.
