Teesta Bazaar

If shopping is what you want then that is exactly what one gets at the Chawk Bazar in Darjeeling. Also known as lower bazaar, this place is actually a junction for shops and vendors that sell almost everything that one can imagine. Located on Hill Cart Road, one will find the bus, taxi and jeep stand nearby. Needless to say, one can assume that a place as such will be crowded throughout the day. Vendors here sell clothing, footwear, woolens, fruits and vegetables, junk jewelry, accessories and a host of other stuff as well. The Supermarket and Fancy Market are also located here and it brims with items from the local villages on Saturdays and Sundays. There are a number of great eateries here that serve local delights like sel roti and alu dum, thukpa and momos.
