Ekambareshvara Temple

Also known as the Ekambaranathar Temple, this is a temple in Conjevaram which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is a huge temple and has a beautiful design and ancient style of temple architecture. It is one of the Panchasthalam dedicated to Lord Shiva. In this the shiva linga is worshipped as Prithvi Linga. There is also a mango tree in the temple complex which has 4 long branches dedicated to the four different Vedas and is said to be around 3000 years old. The tree still bears 4 types of mangoes in four different seasons. This is the same tree under which Goddess Parvathy made a Shivalinga with a wish to remarry Lord Shiva after she got separated from him.
