Dodda Alada Mara

Dodda Alada Mara is a 400-year old banyan tree situated in Kethohalli village of Karnataka. Its name is derived from a Kannada word which means 'Big Banyan Tree'. The branches of the tree sprawl along for 3 acres. It is home to a large number of notorious monkeys, so visitors are advised to stay cautious. Dodda Alada Mara has a serene environment. Besides a picnic, it is a good spot for those who enjoy a long walk in nature. The sight of monkeys playing also entertain visitors. Some eateries are available nearby, but as the options are limited, visitors are recommended to bring their own food. Dodda Alada Mara is a good spot for a short visit of around 30 minutes to 1 hour. The surroundings are packed with greenery and are kept clean. It is a calm rendezvous with nature which can give you ample time to enjoy.
