Varaha Temple

This masterpiece temple is a part of the Khajuraho Temple Complex and dates back to the 10th Century. This was one of the most popular temples even during that time and the main reason being the exquisite hand- work on the temple walls. The temple was dedicated to the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu which is in the form of a boar. The polished sandstone idol and the walls of this temple look awesome even after so many centuries. The temple is situated on a raised platform and rhis platform is surrounded by 674 other smaller Hindu idols. Apart from the main huge idol Lord Varaha there are other idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses here.
