Pushpagiri

Also known as the Kumara Parvatha, this is at present a world Heritage Site. This place was declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary in the year 1987 and this is also the main reason for which tourists come here. The forest is marked with evergreen, semi- green and shola type of vegetation. This forest sanctuary in the Kodagu or Co0org District and shares boundaries with the Kukke Subramanya Forest. The main animals found here include elephant, jungle cat, civet, leopard, Wild Pig, sambhar, barking deer, spotted deer, otter, Common mouse, mongoose, hare, porcupines and jackals.
