One Tree Hill

This is a beautiful trekking destination in the hear of Mumbai and close to the hill station of Matheran. It is unbelievable true how a place so inside the busy city can be so serene and unexploited. The trek is easy and meant for all age groups in any season. This trek is also historically important and is known as the Shivaji Ladder Route. It is because, Chhatrapati Shivaji is said to have had climbed up this trek with his horse and the place where you still find rocks and the trek disappearing is where Shivaji stopped. The route from here till the top goes through a beautiful stream of water which always dry except the monsoons. Seasons do not matter if you want to trek this place but it is good to avoid the monsoons given the slippery terrain this place has during the rains.
