Government Museum Mathura

Mathura is said to be the birth place of Lord Krishna and he had spent his childhood with his foster parents in Vrindavan, both in Uttar Pradesh. These two places are thus famous pilgrimage places for the Hindus. The main railway station which serves the city is the Mathura Junction Railway station which is on the Agra- Delhi chord of the Agra- Mumbai and Agra- Chennai Lines. The station is said to have 10 platforms. This station is connected with almost all major stations of the country. There is everything here starting from a computerised reservation counter, phone booths and eating and waiting areas.
