Jhandewalan Mandir

Jhandewalan Mandir is situated in Karol Bagh, Central Delhi. Dedicated to Goddess Aadi Shakti, the divine temple is visited by thousands of believers every single day. Considered to be one of the oldest temples in Delhi, the temple derives its name from the word ‘flag’, as prayer flags were offered to the deity at the temple during Mughal rule. The main point of attraction of Jhandewalan Mandir is the mammoth statue of Lord Hanuman which stands tall at 108 feet. The statue is one of the most famous landmarks in Delhi and also serves as a focal point for many photographs from Jhandewalan metro station. Jhandewalan Mandir timings stretch from 5 am to 10 am. The evening Aarti is a mesmerizing ritual and draws a lot of attention. Also, during Navratri, countless people come to the temple to receive blessings. Durga Pooja is another festival when visitors can witness a glorious celebration at the temple.
