Raj Mahal

Standing adjacent to Jahangir Mahal is the much older Raj Mahal with an east facing entrance. It is said to have been built by Raja Madhukar Shah, the father of Bir Singh Deo. The plain exteriors give way to colorful and ornate interiors. The walls and ceilings of the royal chambers on the ground floor are resplendent with spectacular murals that enliven the entire palace with their bright and cheerful hues.
