Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland, with beautiful Lake Zürich and many other architectural wonders. Fifa World Museum is located right here for football fans. I rather chose to scroll through Toy Museum. If you want to see how toys looked like 300 years ago, just spare some time for it. Quite fascinated with these preserves I decided to pay a visit to a church nearby, and the architecture and carvings were marvellous.
Geneva is globally known for being the headquarters of the mighty United Nations. But, the city's vintage charm, eloquent looks and bubbling energy will not only help you relax but live life at large.
Basel Zoo, One of the best place to meet with Other creatures.
The next morning, I took a train to Bern. Here, I paid a visit to a famous local landmark, Einstein's House. Charmed by the many exquisite cobbled streets and decorated facades along the path, I enjoyed a scenic view of Lake Thun along the drive between Wilderswil and Därligen, where I decided to pick up some lunch.
I would rather call it a city of canals which truly enhance the charm of the place. This city in the heart of Switzerland, holds Gletschergarten Museum in it's heart. History buffs would love the place. An important monument called The Lion Monument stands close to the Museum. Löwendenkmal or the Lion of Lucerne is a dying lion carved out of rock as a memorial for soldiers from Switzerland who served French King Louis XVI during the French Revolution.
Vevey is one of the most interesting places I have ever been to. There's commerce and industry smattered amidst beauty so breathtaking that words may not do any justice at all. They say, Vevey developed into a town from a village. So in a sense, it is rather urban. The place grew as traders and merchants settled from time to time—a transient population, so to speak. The first thing I noticed was the expansive headquarters of Nestlé on the waterfront. Opposite the building, there is a large garden with a sensational logo of the Nestlé bird created purely out of flowers and leaves! There’s also Charlie Chaplin's statue in a square named after him. The famous comedian lived here for 25 years. Just opposite Chaplin's statue is a giant fork sticking out of the water! The fork stands directly across the Nestlé Alimentarium, a museum devoted to the history of food. The fork is in commemoration of its 10th anniversary.
Walking through the beautiful village of Leysin made me realize what an absolute sensory treat it is! Almost every quaint wooden cottage has its own little garden plot in the backyard. Most windows are decorated with hanging pots holding geraniums and other colourful flowers. Needless to say, there are also beautifully tended backyards where families grow their own vegetables and fruits.Leysin is very conducive to outdoor activities and water sports all year round. With astounding views of the Alps and the Rhone valley all around, teamed with fresh, pure mountain air, I decided to explore some of the walking trails soon to make the start of my stay here extra special. The resort was well located in lower Leysin, a short hop from shops and restaurants and also quite close to the village train station. The Chalet had about 10–15 cute apartments—some studios, some one or two-bedroom apartments.
Hike from Lauterbrunnen to Murren
On the way back to Leysin, I checked out Les Diablerets for a while. It is known as a gourmet's delight after all. Here, I stopped by the Auberge du Rosex restaurant. Housed in a 300-year-old house, its furnishings consist largely of witches hanging on brooms from ceilings! Further, the décor includes garlic hanging on the walls to ward off evil spirits. The menu is very creatively divided into the 12 zodiac signs. I was famished by now, and so decided to experiment with some unusual dishes like horse meat medallions with garlic and potatoes. I also tried the salad of baby leaves with white chocolate. The lively table next to mine ordered a shellfish dipped in white wine and some steamed fillets of char fish with black chocolate. After that leisurely and imaginative, creative, yet delectable meal, I was ready to call it a day.
The perfect destination is ultimately a function of time and money – so if you keep your options wide open, you can save. Your biggest fixed expense will be your flight tickets, so it makes sense to pick a place accordingly. Skyscanner is brilliant for this because it is easy to see everywhere in the world that your money can take you, without doing multiple searches on multiple websites. Here's the map view of a recent Skyscanner search I did for my trip this summer.I set the budget for my flight to Rs. 30,000 and voila! All the flight routes within my budget popped up for me to select from.
After this we went Lungern, small and very beautiful village. Surrounded with sparkling blue lake ,lush green view and colorful flowers everywhere. We spent our evening there and enjoyed the cool breeze of lake.
Neuhausen am Rheinfall
I like to put in effort to plan trips even if I have limited time on hand. This weekend I had one day to me, but when the destination was Switzerland I had to make the most out of it. Perks of staying in Frankfurt, Germany include a short train ride of four hours to Switzerland. Starting the day early is a bliss, you have the whole day to yourself and to top it you get this amazing view with fewer tourists of the beautiful Rhein Waterfalls. Though I thoroughly enjoyed exploring Switzerland for the first time as a tourist myself. The Rhine Falls, known as Rheinfall in Switzerland, is the largest plain waterfall in Europe.
We roamed around the streets and markets. While passing by the church, we stopped at Zermatt cemetery and shot the photo below. Vivid flowers adorned the perfectly manicured grave-sites. Reached back to Interlaken early that day to take some rest and enjoy the evening there.

Day 5: It was time to go back to India with beautiful memories and some really nice swiss chocolates.
Day 2 : Next day was for Grindelwald , is a valley town, whereas Grindelwald First is a summit famous for hiking. We boarded train for Grindelwald from Interlaken. Reached our destination within 1 hour, then took cable car for Grindelwalds's first cliff walk. At the top of the First cable car, there’s a short, safe, and slightly scary cliff walk with a sky bridge.
After the factory we went to Montreaux which is absolutely breathtaking.
Day 1: Mountain Trip to TitlisFrom Zurich Hb we took a train to Engelberg which took around 2 hours to reach. Engelberg is a beautiful small town from where you can start your journey to Mt. Titlis. Its just a 10 min walk to cable car station. But the path is full of beautiful scenaries and perfect for clicking pictures. From Cable car station, you will need to take cable cars (including rotating one) to reach the mountain. It offers breathtaking views with completely covered snow mountains. There are around 4 levels at this place and each level has something to offer. Do visit glacier cave, to experience extreme cold. On the 4th level, there is terrace from where you can proceed towards chair flyer to do snow sports. After spending 4 hours at Titlis we proceed downstairs through same route and had heavy lunch at the restaurant downstairs that offers indian cuisines. In the evening you can spend day roaming in Zurich city and can do some shopping.
Switzerland is a beautiful country with beautiful people. To absorb the beauty of the Swiss countryside, a trek through Beatenberg is ideal. This countryside on the banks of Thun lake, is charming and offers various adventure sports as well. If you are a wildlife enthusiast, the higher reaches of Beatenberg is home to the rare ibex.
