Thane Junction

The first railway line of india was started from mumbai to Thane and at present Thane is a junction railway station that is a part of the Central Mumbai Suburban Railway stretch. This is the busiest station in the suburban route and handles about 650000 people and 1000 trains each day. The station has 10 platforms out of which 1-4 are for slow trains, 5-8 for fast trains and the rest for long distance travelling.
