Rank1 out of 2 attractions in Thottada
This beach is where the river meets the sea and thus is the most beautiful place to visit in Kannur. The clean sands and foamy white waters of the sea are mesmerizing and lovely to relax. You can also enjoy a lazy, romantic walk along the beach or even arrange for a romantic date or a family picnic here. The holiday resorts line up the shores and give very attractive views of the seas and beyond. The swaying casuarinas and palms provide for the perfect green content. This place is the most recommended on your visit to the place.

Thottada beach and the 7 mile beach in Kannur snuggle into each other forming the most glorious locale for us mankind. Nestled amidst the coconut groves of the Thottada beach on the shores of a river bed and a small river is the home of a lovely couple Rosy and Nazir. kannur beach house their homestay is simple and elegant and yet meets all the requirements for a good holiday.Tottada is home to the most magnificent birds called the Brahmani kites which is also assumed to be the vehicle of Lord Krishna. Lying down on the hammocks at KBH with the sound of the waves for music and watching these glorious birds is definitely the most beautiful reality show that nourishes and enriches me. Its a man eat mans world, similarly its a crow eat the kites world out there. When a kite snatches its prey from the ocean, on its way to the nest, the cunning crow would fly below the kite and snatch away its prey from the claw .Like we all have our favourite spots in life Birds have them too... A canvas of colours for attire, the simple and quiet kingfisher would perch itself for hours together at the twig of the tree over looking my balcony. Ignorant of the paparazzi and a fan watching its every move it would day dream for hours at a stretch. The kiss of the waves under the glorious natural sauna beckons me more and more towards the mighty ocean. Lying down under the blazing sun, with Pink Floyd flaming on his guitar, I resource and stock the required Vitamin D on these shores. The smell of delicious pathiri, avial, thoran, sambar, Erachi(beef) varattiyathu and Chicken curry cooked in the native and freely available coconut oil drags me back to the home for a sumptuous meal. The dining table is ever so delightful with all the guest on one table with the charming hosts entertaining. Very many stories and experiences are shared thus filling my Bank of Knowledge which makes me much healthier and wealthier. There is more to Kannur and I just cant wait to explore more on those shores.....
