Ajinkya Deshmukh

I grew up as a small town boy in the suburbs of Mumbai. I spent a good amount of my childhood playing cricket with a rubber ball until some academic success caught me into the fray of competing with others in examination halls to find a better life and change the world. I happened to get into the IITs and later the IIMs but both places offered so much freedom that led to more questions in my mind than answers as I had thought earlier. I believed it would be an answer to all questions in life. That was really not the case and I now appreciate why it was better for me that way. I was fortunate enough to experiment with my time trying to do things I loved. I co-founded a non-profit for high school students from government schools in Bangalore right after graduating from IIM Bangalore. I could not change the world around me in that period but it changed me for the better. With the support of family and friends, I was fortunate enough to take a long break from professional life to travel in the himalayas and then Southeast Asia. Traveling has been the best teacher without preaching. This blog is a sincere attempt to share my findings to things that matter in life. I am passionate about travel, food, health, sustainable living and personal finance. I use some of my time to uncover the not so obvious things on this site.
