Dr. Vyankatesh Metan

Dr. Vyankatesh Metan is an Orthopedic Surgeon working in his own Dr. Metan Hospital Solapur. Traveling is my passion and till to date I have traveled nearly 60% of India and 42 different countries. He has traveled widely to many National and International Parks and Forests in India and abroad. He is an excellent Birder and nationally renowned Wildlife Photographer. He was awarded membership of “National Geographic Society”. His solo wildlife and nature photography exhibition “Connect with the Nature” was displayed at the prestigious Jahangir Art Gallery in Mumbai as well as at prestigious “Chitrakala Parishath” Art Gallery, Bangalore. He is awarded membership of National Geographic Society. India Post, Ministry of Communications Government of India has published his personal official Postage stamp of Rs. 5. He is President of “Dr. Metan Foundation” a charitable trust. This foundation does charity in various social, health, educational, community developments and cultural activities. He is the Chairman of “V Metan Creations Private Limited Company”. This company does works in production and distribution in photography, documentary, short films, exhibitions, book publication, wildlife and sports. His extensive service to The Rotary International includes selected unopposed as Rotary International District Governor RID 3132 for year 2014-15. His status and image in society is that people recognize him as an excellent Orthopedic surgeon, An excellent Birder, A nationally renowned Photographer, A tech friendly person, True Rotarian, An enthusiastic tennis player, Great Motivator and a good hearted social worker. He was President of “Solapur Private Hospital Owners’ Association” for year 2017-18. He was Secretary of MARD (Maharashtra Resident Doctor’s Association) in1990. He was Chairman of Computer Society of India Solapur Chapter in year 2007. He was President of Indian Medical Association Solapur Branch in 2008-09 and bagged State level Best President award; He was President of Solapur Orthopedic Society for two years 2008-09 & 2009-10. He is President of Youth Hostel Association of India Solapur Unit for last eight years. He was Organizing Secretary of Maharashtra Orthopaedic Association Regional Conference, “HOSPICON-2017” Conference, “HOSPICON-2018” Conference and IMA State “EVECON-2108” Conference.
