Goutam Chatterjee was commissioned in AE (L) branch of IAF on 24 Aug1981. He attained his B.E. degree in Electronics & Telecom from Govt. Engineering College, Jabalpur; M. Tech. in Microelectronics from IIT Kharagpur and Ph.D. from MANIT, Bhopal. He is Fellow and life time member of Institute of Engineers (FIE) and Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (FIETE). He is alumina of 50th staff course at DSSC, Wellington. During his years with IAF, he worked in SAM-III squadrons, Mirage-2000 aircraft, BRD, EW unit and Signal Squadron. He took premature retirement as Wing Commander in April 2005 in spite of getting selection grade promotion orders for the post of Group Captain. During his years with Indian Air Force, he was associated with number of prestigious and multi-crore projects, of which, three projects were recognized by IAF as equivalent of Ph.D. work. He was trained on Laser designator at Israel . He was associated with number of indigenization and modernizing projects. He has executed many innovative technical projects as Deputy General Manager of AEM Pvt Ltd. He has served as Vice-Principal and Head EC at institutions like GRKIST, Jabalpur GGCT, Jabalpur and GLAITM, Mathura before joining TCT, Bhopal as Vice Principal. He was responsible to set up functioning of two engineering colleges of OGI at Jabalpur from Aug2008 to Aug2009. In Dec2010, he was promoted in OGI as Director of Oriental Group of Engineering Colleges, Jabalpur. He has presented a number of research papers in various International Conferences. His articles have been published by prestigious ‘Flight Safety Magazine’, by IAF. His work in Ph.D. on ‘Real Time Stress monitoring of Fighter Pilots by wireless sensors in Body Area Network’ at MANIT, Bhopal was duly appreciated by IEEE sponsored International conference at Jordan, where he presented his paper during 08-10 Aug 2008. For this conference, MPCOST granted him travel assistance. His research papers were also accepted in International conferences at Bali, Malaysia, Turkey and Spain. His paper on "Software Development for Stress Monitoring of Fighter Pilots" can be accessed at www.ijmi.org.
