I call myself a travel cheerleader because I’m passionate about showing you how easy, rewarding, and affordable solo female travel can be. When I tell friends to meet me in Thailand, or to join me for spring break in Santorini, the response I usually get is “yeah, right.” My dream is to revolutionize the way you think about travel – to turn your defeated “yeah, right” into “Yeah, Rebs! That’s RIGHT!” For the first 25 years of my life, I was an actress. I went to theatre school, I moved to Los Angeles, and I poured my heart, soul, and money into the realization of a deeply held dream. But I was unhappy, constantly broke, and constantly stressed out. I had deep-seated travel dreams that had been left unrealized because I was terrified I’d miss out on potential career opportunities at home. I told myself, “First I’ll get rich and famous, then I can see the world.” But fame and riches continued to elude me, so in essence I was sacrificing my travel dreams for – well, for nothing. I started writing. First it was scripts for myself and my friends, then it turned into copywriting for small businesses. Before I knew it, people were paying me to write about travel. I started my own online marketing company and began writing for travel blogs and travel companies. In 2013 I became location independent and took my travel show on the road. If I can see the world, anyone can. I’m a complete chicken, I’m constantly making mistakes, and sometimes I get really lonely. But being able to see the world makes up for all that stuff times ten. If travel is in your heart, I can help you make it happen. You can go there, no matter what people are telling you (or what you’re telling yourself.) It doesn’t matter if you’re broke. It doesn’t matter if you have a full time job. It doesn’t matter if you’re buried in debt. All you need is the desire to go. The rest? Well, that’s what I’m here for.
