Day 1

My folks are very sporty and active people in the world. As soon as they came down to Pune, they wanted to trek. Me and my sister decided to take them to the most famous and an easy trek "Sinhagad Killa Trek". And my dad absolutely loves driving. We thought of booking a zoom car for the whole day so that we could cover sinhagad fort and khadakwasla damn on the same day. Unfortunately on weekends, no zoomcar or drivezy or revv cars were available. We then booked an ola outstation for the day.
We left our house in the morning 8.00 am(My dad is very punctual) with all the gears - raincoats, sunglasses, water bottles, and some ghar ka khana(You know how caring moms can be). The view was amazing and greenary was all set in our eyes as it was the beginning of rainy season. Then we stopped on the highway to have some breakfast. Had the best misal pav and vada pav which are one of thoe most famous dishes of Pune. After filling our stomach with tasty and hot breakfast and taking some good pictures of the FAM, we continued our journey. The fort was some 44km from pune. The more we got closer to the fort, the more we could feel the cold breeze and see the foggy view. My mom dad were enjoying throughout. Looking at their smiling and curious faces, we felt like this is going to the best trip ever. I could still feel that strong cool wind that was there. It made the urge to have hot tea more and more. So we stopped at a small shop for some tea and maggie. Then we parked our car at the parking below the start of trek, and were all set to begin the adventure.
It started raining as well, so we had our raincoats with us. And the trek is very easy as there our stairs to go to the top. At every stairs that we used to climb, we were clikcing pictures, enjoying the view and having lots of fun. There our some small roads where you can go and sit. And the view is a beauty from every angle. Now was almost lunch time when we reached the top. We were all hungry so decided to have lunch. On the top of the fort there are many villagers who have their own shops where in they make very tasty and authentic maharashtrian dish called " Pithla Bhakri" and serve it with natural homemade matka "Dahi". And those people server lots of small matka dahis on a plate and you tend to eat a lot of dahi one matka after the another like tequilla shots :) We took a mat from one of the shop, sat on the ground and had our very tasty meal. After chilling for more one hour on the top, we started our journey back to the bottom of the fort where we had parked our vehicle. After leaving from the fort we went to Khadakwasla Dam which is some 16 km from the fort. After reaching there, we had some corn and tea. And played some games near the water. We all were very tired till the end of the journey and we decided to go back to our home. Though the trip was short and sweet, but it was fun and filled with laughters and beautiful conversation and the view from the top is definitely something to die for!
