Overview

Bhrigu Lake is a high altitude alpine lake, which is just three days hike from Manali. The steep trail goes through virgin forests and lush green meadows which open into the beautiful campsite of Rola Khuli. On your way, lay your eyes on Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters peaks. On the second day, you trek uphill to the oval-shaped lake which is believed to change colours with seasons. One would trade the world to experience the serene environment around the lake. Adore the traditional villages and apple orchards in the last leg of the descent.

Hotel Details
  • Camp stay
Itinerary
  • Arrive in Manali and drive to Gulaba
  • Reach Main Govt. bus sand in Manali by 09:00 Hrs sharp
  • Please note that we will not be able to wait for anyone any further
  • Hike through the forest and meadows with Manali and Solang Valley in the background

  • After 3-4 hours of the hike, we will reach the Kolang Nallah
  • There is a makeshift wooden bridge on this Nallah for most of the months. After crossing the bridge, hike for another 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Rola Kholi, our campsite for the day
  • Overnight at the camp
  • Start early in the morning as the trail today is a long and steep one
  • As we trek to the lake, the trail changes colour from green to brown and to white (in winters)
  • The participants are requested to be extra cautious today because the path is through boulders and scree
  • Once we reach the lake, the view is breathtaking because of the frozen lake (frozen almost in all months)
  • If you happen to visit the lake during the summer, you will find grass and tiny alpine flowers surrounding the lake
  • After spending some time at the lake, retrace our steps back to our campsite at Rola Kholi
  • Trek back to the trail head at Gulaba and board our vehicles for the drive to Manali
  • Expect to reach Manali by 4:00 pm
  • This could be delayed by heavy traffic in the peak summer months, so book your return from Manali late at night
