Goecha la Trek is in Sikkim, it's the dream trek for almost all trek & adventure seekers. it is one of the most romantic treks in the country giving a great view of the third highest peak in the world, Kanchenjunga. The trek has diverse flora & fauna that makes the complete ambiance so tranquil. The breath-taking view of mountain peaks and attractive meadows makes the journey even more awe-inspiring. The trekking is difficult in areas and needs professional trekkers who can guide & train during the trek. Goecha la trek is universally known as the most romantic trek of the Himalayas, Goecha la means “understanding the portion of the mountain pass”.
Itinerary
  • ---------- Reach Yuksom (5840) ---------- The trek starts from a small, quiet village in West Sikkim. Before leaving for the trek, explore the village, one of the roads will take you straight to the helipad, which gives you a grand view of the hamlet. Also, Yuksom is the last destination which can reached by road. All treks start from here and here you also visit the Kangchendzonga National Park. All plastic money users remember there is no ATM facility ahead so if you need it then you must use it here.
  • ---------- Trek From Yuksom To TShoka (9842ft) ---------- The smallest campsite of this trek. It’s the best place for photographers where they can find a dense forest to walk free around. The lush greenery, the freshness in the air, the clouds playing around and kissing the peaks, the sunshine on and off – everything seems so perfect there. Finally arriving in tShoka, settling down into the twilight campsite & good night for the day.
  • --------- Trek From TShoka To DZongri (12980ft) ---------- On the third day of our trek we shall be reaching dZongri, we shall be crossing Prek Chu river and then to hike uphill through the aromatic viburnum plantations. For shopaholics here is the spot for you at Bakhim, where you can purchase souvenirs, you can have maggi here and can even get snacks packed for Tshokha. For photographers again, it is the best site especially for time lapse video shoot. Hereafter, trekking upwards, we will finally reach Tshoka, the Tibetan refugee settlement, so you will see many old built homes here. Catch the glimpse of Mt. Pandim 6691m, Mt. Kabur north 7338m, Mt. Kabur south 7317m, Mt. Kumbhakarna (Janoo) 7710m, Mt. Simvo 6811m, Mt. Kabru Forked 6108m, Mt, Frey Peak 5830m, Mt. Rathong 6679m, Mt. Kokthang 6147m and Mt. Goecha Peak 5127m. Also, you can visit a tiny lake, just a few meters away from wooden huts. Finally settle down for the day in your twilight campsite.
  • ---------- Acclimatisation Day At DZongri ---------- A much-needed break to relax the muscles & to get acclimatized with the altitude 5th day of the trekking will be in Dzongri. Big wooden huts will help you stay together, get. Also solo travelers will find fellow trekkers here. You can enjoy playing indoor games here
  • ---------- Trek DZongri From Thansing (12900ft) --------- It’s the toughest day of the trek, but that last few meters of climb will finally take you to camp site which gives you enough courage to take a glance of Dzongri top and spend some time along with your cameras nearby river. For woolen seekers here comes the warmth for you can shop for woolen apparel and caps. Although it is quite expensive here as compared to its quality. By the time you reach Dzongri, it will be covered with snow. The view is mesmerizing as snow all ound and only colourful element is you and your tents. The starry night will be enough to keep all the photographers & writers awake in haste of catching moments.
  • ------------ Thansing To Lamunay (13694) ---------- We reached Lamuney by the afternoon it is the biggest plane surface area of this trek. Our twilight campsite will be put right next to the river, and we could clearly see the mountains on the other side. We can play cricket with 'Desi' ball made with waste plastic bag and papers. For readers no place can be better than this for your reading stuff.
  • ---------- Laumney To Goecha LA (16400) ----------- We must start the trekking early to avoid the climatic conditions. While returning from the viewpoint, clear sky will wait for us along with a fantastic view of Samiti lake. The reflection of Mt Pandim and Mt Tenzingkhang will able to make you lost in the true feeling of Himalayas. Don’t be in a hurry to return Thansing instead, spend most of the time around the lake. Behold the magical views of the Kanchenjunga and other distant peaks before we start moving back towards Lamuney for a twilight campsite.
  • --------- Thangsing To TShoka ---------- To avoid steep climb, we shall be taking a route through the Dzongri Plateau to avoid the long climb. The trail passes through Prek Chu and the deciduous forests of Phedang. This route will have enough stuff to amaze you. Arriving in Tshoka, settle down in the overnight stay camps.
  • ----------- Tshokha To Yuksom ---------- Descending back through the Prek Chu River, we shall be arriving in Yuksom, the last leg of this astonishing tour. The stay will be in the guest house. You can charge your devices there and can start sharing the stuff like social profile, exchanging numbers and pictures. Finally, it will be a good night.
  • ---------- Departure From Yuksom ----------- We all hate good bye’s but as everything comes to an end. So, here we must depart though it’s not easy neither for our team nor for trekkers. But we will surely see you on the next trek, till then stay fit and healthy.

  • Accommodation during trekking in Twilight Camping /TeaHouses on twin or triple sharing basis along with all the camping gears like sleeping mattress, blankets and other related items.
  • Proper food menu is followed based on each trek- its altitude, weather, number of days and health of trekkers. It includes 3 meals & mid-day + evening meals. The food menu is planned by the professional trekker & dietitian.
  • First aid Medical kit is provided.
  • Permits of treks where permission is to be taken.
  • Qualified & experienced Trek leader, Guide and support staff.
  • Trek fee include services from Yuksom to Yuksom
Exclusions
  • No kind of insurance or medical expenses are included.
  • Any kind of personal expenses or for porters or ponies are not included.
  • Transportation charges from the starting point before the excursion and from the ending point to back to the pickup point are not included.
  • Any other food & beverage charges other than food menu are not included.
  • Any other costing involved due to any kind of natural calamity, forced circumstances are out of our control.
  • Transportation To and From Yuksom will be charge extra and need to confirm 1 week before the trek starts . Cab charges will be share with you on your request

The itinerary may vary sometimes in case of climatic condition at high altitudes.

If the pickup or drop is arranged from or to the place other than the reporting point then the transportation shall be charged extra (as per actual).

Mules or porters’ charges to carry luggage or any kind of personal expenses will be beard by the client himself.

It is advisable not to consume alcohol or any other intoxicants during the trek.

Avoid trekking during the nights.

The trek takes place through Eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.

For any trek cancellation, we should be informed at least one week prior to the trek.

No cancellation charges if cancel before 7 days of trek start date (100% refund except bank charges and GST)

In case the cancellation is not made before one week then you can keep your money safe by informing us and can go for same or another trek on some other date as well. (at least before 3 days no refund if cancellation made in between 3 days of trek staring date )
