When planning a trip to Thailand, after doing some exhaustive research we narrowed it down to only Krabi for the beautiful beaches this place has to offer. We decided to ditch Phuket and Bangkok for being overtly commercialized and started our onward planning.
We booked our tickets with Bangkok Airways which is a boutique airlines and we were quite impressed. We decided to apply for visa from Bombay considering the layover time in Bangkok was too short and we managed it pretty well with the help of Thomas Cook. We carried 25ooo THB along with us that we exchanged from bookmyforex who give the lowest and the best rates.
The first place we decided to go to was Khao Lak which is a 2 hours drive from Krabi Airport (Phuket is closer to go to Khao Lak) and the drive was just fantastic. We were greeted by light showers in the month of Feb but the journey was fab. We had made bookings for our transfer from Krabi Airport to Khao Lak and from Khao Lak to Aonang with Boss after reading some amazing reviews about him on different forums. Complete transfer costed us 5000 THB which was a steal.
So we spent 2 nights in Khao Lak and spent an entire day in White Sandy Beach which had hardly any people. We booked two beach beds and drank some chilled Chang beer and enjoyed our afternoon. Post this we went to Khao Lak National Park where we were handed a small map for a nature hike which was quite adventurous only to be greeted by a hidden beach and coconut standee. It was too hot so we drank some coconut water and headed back to our hotel where we spent the rest of the evening in leisure. This island was indeed quiet and a good find. We loved our 2 nights stay in Khao Lak.
Next day post breakfast we headed to Ao Nang and checked into our hotel. After freshening up we decided to walk down along the beach to find a place to eat. Ao Nang beach is surrounded by lovely cafes so we went to one and had a quick lunch. Evening we went out to witness the sunset and enjoyed some tuktuk music and returned back.
The next 3 days was action packed adventure awaiting us for the different tours we had booked in advance on viator.com
