I was in a no rush though it was my last day in chitkul. I wanted to feel the vibes like a local. As it was end of june, monsoon was finally about to hit the mountains.
It was a gloomy and a lazy day, a comparatively cold as per the summers. After my brunch, I decided to roam near by as clouds were looking crazier to burst out at any time. With my rainbow umbrella I left my hostel. No wonder why only heaven word comes in my mind for chitkul, no matter it was a sunny, rainy or a gloomy day...this heaven sticks to its beauty without a miss. River were flowing all across the village, a mini bridges were helping to connect one homestay to another, the meadows were wrapped in a lush green grass & yellow poppy flowers, the white pebbles boundaries were adding the extra glamour into the scene. Some locals were doing organic farming in the wide open fields in front on the gigantic mountains along with the river following it.
By the time I was clicking some shots, withing few mins moody skies turned wild and thunders followed by. Luckily I was near to the renowned dhaba of India "Hindustan ka Aakhri Dhaba". I didn't rush to Dhaba but took a slow walk enjoying the light drizzle, thanks to my rainbow umbrella. Hungry me ordered Rajma Chawal and chai, the perfect companion of rain. I enjoyed the delicacy while listening to the rain on a tin shed. The location of the dhaba was exceptionally amazing to enjoy the view of a lifetime. As soon as rain took a mini halt, I came back to my hostel. As I lay down to take some rest, the scenic view from window turned up more appealing. The deep yellow colour skies cracked into the amber colour left me staring at it till dawn. With that dramatic evening, my trip to chitkul turned into a reality.
And yeah I forgot to tell you best part of this village, It’s was a no networking zone which truly makes sense to me now..Heaven doesn't need to have a network...;)
