Tripoto's in-house editorial team reviews and approves thousands of stories, itineraries, guides and experiences published by you. Blogs that are not approved don't show up on the website or earn credits, but are still available to read.
The team looks for original and useful blogs that help the members of this community plan their trips and travels. Blogs that meet the quality standards of the editorial team are added to collections, posted on the homepage of the site and app, and distributed to readers interested in these topics across our social media channels.
Here are some of the things our team looks for when they approve blogs:
1. Originality: You must be the owner of all the words and images you use in your story. Plagiarism of any kind is not permitted, and users found copying will be banned from publishing on Tripoto. If you are use a borrowed photo, you must seek explicit permission from the photographer and assign credit to them in your blog.
2. Quality and grammar: We are no grammar nazis, but errors make for an unpleasant reading experience. Your title and words should be free of typos, interesting, and factually correct. Accurate and fun blogs are the most wishlisted and popular on Tripoto.
3. High-quality pictures: Add a few personal pictures to your blog – they make your story more authentic and believable. Limit your selfies to one or two per story. Blogs with high resolution images are the most viewed on Tripoto.
4. Useful formatting: Use our location and day tags to make your blog more useful to travellers reading it. Add the start date, trip duration and trip cost and earn credits and brownie points.
5. Completed profiles: Your profile on Tripoto helps travellers in the community know you better. Edit your profile to include your full name, a clear picture of your face, a good quality cover photo and a bio that talks about your travel style.
The editorial team does not approve blogs with:
1. Third-party promotion: Tripoto does not allow community members to promote third-party products, services, or brands. Do not include any words, links or images that do this.
2. Credit hacking techniques: Use Tripoto to get your experience to other travellers, not to earn credits dishonourably. If you are breaking a story into multiple blogs, adding a single photo and line of text etc, your story will not be approved and you won't earn credits.
NOTE: Plagiarism and duplicate content will lead to a permanent ban.
