Can anyone suggest some modes of public transport viz. public buses and their routes for local sightseeing? And does anyone have any experience of taking any of the North Goa and South Goa tours that different vendors advertise on internet?

Govt buses are available to travel from South to North Goa.....it's better to hire vehicle and explore Goa, if u can ride or drive

I would suggest to hire a cab for a day or scooty .. if u can commute through it

Its better to rent out a car or bike rather than using public transport in goa.

There are tourist buses which can be hired by the hotel. They provide day trips to North and South Goa. Otherwise you can hire scooty and explore it on your own.
