Hey Anwesha, There are 3 places where river Cauvery flows and are the best for family outing you are looking for .... 1. Talakaadu : 130 Kms from Bangalore this is a best spot for family picnic with temples as well as a coracle ride in the river ... the sand on the banks of River Cauvery is a great place to hang out ... the waters also give a chance to play ... 2. Shivanasamudra falls :- This is again 140 Kms from Bangalore and also hosts many family picnics ... people come here with family and enjoy a lott ... water falls are mahir attraction here ... 3 Mutthatthi: I am not completely sure about whether the officials now leave people to make a small camp and go back by evening .. I had been with my friends couple of years ago and we had a great time ... still you check about this on Google ... And as always if you are not into long drives then you can head to Nandi hills and it's the best to get back home by evening ... Happy Travelling!! have fun
