You can visit any time of the year depends on what you are expecting..like snow then december to feb is the best time sometimes in march als(as this year)you may witness snowfall..or if you just want to escape heat of may and june then also you may visit there..manali is more of green and shimla is more of happening kind of..manali will be bit colder in summers also and shimla will be soothing not as cold as such
