Hey Charlotte, Welcome to India! :) If you want to explore some exotic places, Ladakh, Kerala, Kashmir, Agra can be covered, but that also depends in the city you are landing, & the days you have in your bucket for travel+ holiday.
Depends on the weather during your visit to India for e.g.-
During summers - it's better to visit some of the hill stations in the north like Himachal Pradesh and uttranchal like shimla, manali, mcleodgang or spiti valley where u can find snow also or u can go to Northeast also pretty good and natural place to visit like sohra krangsuri twang valley etc. beaches are not a good destination for holidays during summers in India as it's quite hot here during summers
likewise during winters u can visit Agra (for taj Mahal) or beaches in Goa . u can also visit andaman and nicobar islands also
India has a lot to offer to everyone. Most visited places are Manali, Shimla, Srinagar, Darjeeling, Nainital, Dehradun, Dalhousie, Dharamshala (for their natural beauty), Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur (for their rich culture and tradition), Varanasi, Ujjain, Nasik, Haridwar, Katra, Char-dham, Puri, Madurai (for religion and pilgrimage), Goa (for fun and adventure sports) so choice is yours which is beautiful for you- nature, traditions, religion or adventure. Hi, It depends on what time of the year you are visiting India, how far you can travel after you work is completed and how many days you have in hand . If you are visiting during summer or monsoon, you should opt for places in Northern India like Ladakh, Manali, Simla or in Northeast like Sikkim, Darjeeling, Meghalaya, etc.
If you visit during winter, Rajasthan is the best option. Another good place would be Kerala which is also called God's own country.
