Best time of Monsoon. You can travel Maharastra yet avoid crowdy places like lonavala and go for some adventure treks spread across the state. Or may be Madhyapradesh Pachmarhi etc. Kerala in any case less crowded in many parts of it like thekkady and ramakkalmedu side. This way you can avoid crowds and yet have an amazin trip.
