Dawki is roughly about 90 kilometers from Shillong. The route to Dawki is filled with beautiful trees, rivulets and deep forests. You can either hire a taxi that cost you 900-1000 INR. Or board a private or public bus that cost you 150-200 INR.

Stay in homestays or hostels , travel by local transport , if u know driving take bike or car for rent. eat at local areas don't go to fancy restaurants go for cafes or u can cook by urself at ur stay or u can give 1k 2k for any cook and he or she will cook some food for u.
