Hello Vamsi,
There are innumerable places that you can explore around Bangalore over the weekends. You can travel to Mysore, Ooty, Coonor, Coorg, Hampi, Gokarna etc. If you're up for some trekking and camping, you can go to explore Tadiandamol, Kumara Parvatha, Kodachadri, Kumta, and other places tucked on the Western Ghats. From Pune, you can travel to Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Nashik etc. Since you mentioned that you'll be traveling from Hyderabad, I guess the best option would be to go to Gokarna and chill by the beaches :)
You can try chikmangloor or wayanad. Both these places have nice treks and plenty of stuff of do. They even have Zostels. So stay will not be a problem. You can also visit Munnar which is not very far from Bangalore. A hidden gem I found was Kotagiri. Such a beautiful place between Conoor and Ooty. You can also check that out.
1. Can I travel without having to go through a travel agent?
2. Can i book accomodation at Tawang, Bomdila, Dirang on my own and how secure will it be?
3. Can I reserve a cab from point to point travel and how much is the estimated cost for the same?
4. What are chances of hiring the helicopter service from Tawang to Guwahati during last week of December? how soon that need to be confirmed?
If you like sea beach, then you can look at Goa, Kovalam, Pondicherry.
If you like mountains then you can look at Shillong, Darjeeling, Kasauli.
If you your interest lies elsewhere, then you can research based on your interest.
Hello Monika! Jaisalmer would be a great choice to kick start your new year! You can obviously opt to stay in a tent at Sam Sand Dune. When I traveled there, I stayed with Rajputana Tented Camps, they have a beautiful traditional dance show and authentic Rajasthani dinner for the guests. You can club a camel safari and a jeep safari with your stay.
I'm sorry that I can't help you out with your query. But I'm interested to know your experience of this mega Roadtrip (i too desire to go on this uncharted territory) and the challenges that need to be taken in to stride. I will follow you for your trip and wish you all the very best to successfully complete this wonderful task. please stay connected 🙂
You should try Ganpatipule! It's located on a cliff and has a beach surrounding it. The beaches are gorgeous. January is an off season so you won't even find annoying tourists and hotel rooms would be cheaper too.
There's this Hotel called Vhyomaan Inn in Panchgani. The Hotel is really pretty and inexpensive. They even have a duplex room. Main Mahabaleshwar is pretty crowded, I'd suggest you stay in Panchgani.
Hi Amey, Mahabaleshwar has many good options for staying! Citrus Chambers would be a good place to stay and chill. Hotel Lake View, White House are a few other options too. If you're planning to go to Panchgani, then what can be better than staying at Zostel :) Super amazing location and extremely pocket friendly!
