For spirituality seekers and street photographers, Rishikesh and Varanasi are best options. Oh, and the mountains are full of options for first time solo travellers - Mcleodganj, Kasol, Bir-Billing and Manali. If you want to try something slightly adventurous then head to Kausani, Naukuchiatal, Gushaini, Auli or Parwanoo. From bagdogra travel to Siliguri by cab. It's a 30mins journey, won't cost you more than 100 bucks. Then you can hire a shared Tata Sumo or Bolero to Gangtok.
