Hi Siddharth, Gokarna is located about 140km by road and 87km by rails from Goa, so the cheapest and most convenient way to travel there is to take a train from Goa. About 5 trains run between the two destinations everyday. According to my knowledge, Matsyagandha Express and Maru Sagar Express are direct trains that are ideal for your journey. They take only about 1.5 hours to reach Ankola Railway Station. Once at Ankola railway Station, you will find easily available cabs and buses to reach the main town. Alternatively, you can also rent a car or hire a cab from Goa Airport for your journey to Gokarna. In case you want to take a bus, take one Madgaon to Karwar and then, from Karwar to Ankola. This will cost you about Rs. 300. Hope this helps, happy travels!

Hi Pavan Here are some places you should check out when you're in Matheran. Louisa Point, Porcupine Point, Panorama Point and Alexander Point is great if you're a fan of spectacular views. These peaceful spots are reputed for their panoramic views and beautiful sunrises. Dodhani waterfalls gushing in full glory is quite a sight and you can even try rappelling here! Sit by the Charlotte Lake for some time. You'll spot a number of colourful birds here. Visit Little Chowk Point for views of the Sahyadri Ranges which will make your jaw drop. Monkey point is the place to be at if you want to spend some time watching lively monkeys and different kinds of langurs. Hop on the Neral Matheran Toy Train which connects Neral to Matheran to gaze around at verdant landscapes whipping past. Here is an account of a trip to Matheran for a general idea of what it's like in the tranquil hill station. https://www.tripoto.com/trip/the-complete-indian-project-57891f38a03e0 Hope you have a great trip!

Hello Vamsi, There are innumerable places that you can explore around Bangalore over the weekends. You can travel to Mysore, Ooty, Coonor, Coorg, Hampi, Gokarna etc. If you're up for some trekking and camping, you can go to explore Tadiandamol, Kumara Parvatha, Kodachadri, Kumta, and other places tucked on the Western Ghats. From Pune, you can travel to Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Nashik etc. Since you mentioned that you'll be traveling from Hyderabad, I guess the best option would be to go to Gokarna and chill by the beaches :)

You can try chikmangloor or wayanad. Both these places have nice treks and plenty of stuff of do. They even have Zostels. So stay will not be a problem. You can also visit Munnar which is not very far from Bangalore. A hidden gem I found was Kotagiri. Such a beautiful place between Conoor and Ooty. You can also check that out.

Hotel Mamta near Dal lake area.. I had stayed there and it was really nice. Visit srinagar, gulmarg, Pahalgam.. After sunset it is not well lit inside lanes but if you are staying near Dal market you can roam around and shop. You get shared jeeps to pahalgam near that area.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
Suggest plan more of time to gulmarg and pahalgam rather than in srinagar. Both are beautiful places.
