Scuba diving is definetly a must do activity. It takes about half a day but its an inexplicable experience. Other than that you have riding the cruise from one island to the other, boat ride and snorkeling.

In South Goa you will get plenty of budget stays. Palolem beach side is definetly one safe place I recommend. You can also stay at Pollem and Colva. You get good stays starting at 1000 INR.
