We were at Baroda for a family function and had an extra day to roam around and so thought of visiting the Dinosaur fossil park near Balasinor Raiyoli.
We took a bus to Balasinor from Baroda bus stand and later took an auto from Balasinor bus stand to reach the fossil park and also to take us to other sightseeing spots. It took around 2.5 to 3 hrs from Baroda.
The fossil park can also be reached in 1.5 hour drive from Ahmedabad.
Raiyoli site is the second largest Dinosaur hatchery in the world and the 3rd largest fossil site.
More than 10000 eggs were found from this place. There are guides available to explain the fossils. Princess Alia babi of Balasinor also conducts some tours to this site whereby you can hold Dinosaur eggs in your hand.
The museum features the different fossils of different types of dinosaurs.
Kids enjoyed seeing the giant Dinosaur structures. Walking around the park to see the fossils was little boring and tiring for kids. Also it was afternoon time so it was hot.
Overall a nice experience for 1 day outing only if you are nearby this place.
The museum was still under development when we visited. We took a sumo to return back from Balasinor to back at Baroda in the evening.
