Spiti vallley is a desert mountain , found in middle of India and tibet. The culture followed is mostly Buddhism. I started my journey from Dehradun , uttarakhand.I traveled mostly across the north and east part of the himchal in my 12 days trip. One can reach spiti and lahual district by public transport.A direct bus from Shimla to recong peo and then from reconpeo to Kaza can be taken.However , one should keep in mind that there is only one bus that runs from recong peo to kaza in the morning around 6-7 am, if you miss you have wait till next day.I did not headed straight away to spiti valley,but also stayed in some other valleys of himachal. Spiti has one of best landscapes i have seen. If you don't have time to visit ladakh , then definitely spiti should be on our list.
Reaching is not easy at it sounds. The roads are very dangerous from recong peo to Tabo, but its an adventure itself.Some of the places that can be vistied are Nako , tabo, kibber, dhanker.
