To enter KRS dam you need to pay 30INR, Vrindavan Garden entry 20INR & parking extra. KRS dam built over river Kaveri is the biggest dam of Karnataka and is a major source of irrigation and drinking water. Chief Engineer of Mysore M. Visvesvaraya is the man behind KRS dam who presented the bluprint.
In place of spillways that prevents over-topping of dams, Visvesvaraya employed 48 automatic gates that open and close at the rise and fall of water in the reservoir, in six sets, with eight in each.
The Brindavan garden lies adjoining the Krishnarajasagara dam which is visited by close to 2 million tourists per year. If you hate crowd like me then avoid this place. Talking about Brindavan Garden's parking, You won't believe but I have never seen a parking lot this huge and massive from which you can estimate count of crowd coming to this place.
The garden comprises of 3 terraces which contain water fountains, Ficus trees, foliage plants. The main attraction of the park is the musical fountain which bursts out water with coloured light synchronised to the music of songs creating a water ballet. There is also a lake within the garden with boating facilities available for visitors. The main gate is designed on the model of the India Gate, New Delhi.
