Early morning around 6:30 am we started our journey to MURUDESHWAR. We were group of three with two motorcycles. We travelled along the AH 47 till Dharwad. Roads were really good and we were able to cruise easily at 100 kmph.
We took detour at Dharwad and continued our ride on state highway towards yellapur. Road was single laned and condition of road was not that great. But landscape drastically changed when we entered the forest area near yellapur. It was very scenic route to follow.
After munching 520 km we finally reached our destination at around 6 pm. We took a hotel near the temple. In the night we went out to explore the place and see the glimpse of lord Shiva's statue.
Next day, we woke up early and went out to see the sunrise from the 20 storied tall Gopura which is situated right in front of the statue. Watching sunrise from 20th floor of Gopura and witnessing the sun rays slowly illuminating the statue of lord Shiva was moment to remember for life.
