The ‘God’s own country’, Kerala is the queen of South India. The lush greenery coupled with the beautiful roads and amazing historical places, Kerala has always been the full package tourist place for all kinds of people. Also, it is very famous amongst the foreigners as well.

It might seem that Kerala is only a small part of South India, but it is not! Hills, valleys, city and backwater – Kerala has more to witness than to feel. And the beauty of this place is that it does not let you have some days to relax. If you are in Kerala, you have to roam around all day. However, with the right plan or itinerary, you might overcome it. Let us have a look.

  • Thekkady - Summit Hampton / Similar
  • Kumarakom - Houseboat / Similar
  • Day 1: Arrival in Cochin
  • Kerala always starts with the beautiful greetings of its capital – Cochin. Our representatives would be present at Cochin Railway Station or Cochin International Airport to greet you into this amazing place. Surprisingly, we would not be staying at Cochin at all. In the first day itself, you would be transferred to Munnar – the queen of hills in South India. The Western Ghats mountain range has a different kind of beauty than the one you usually witness in the north. And Munnar is the epitome of that kind of beauty. Thus, after a drive of almost 4 hours from Cochin to Munnar, we would be reaching the place by the afternoon. Day 1 would end with you relaxing by the poolside of your hotel in Munnar.
  • Day 2: Munnar Sight-seeing
  • Munnar sight-seeing is mesmerising. With the Western Ghats wrapping her arms around the valley, Munnar seems even more beautiful. While you can enjoy the natural landscape beauty of Munnar from the car window, we would have some particular places to visit first. At first, we would be visiting the Eravikulam National Park. South Indian states have many national parks scattered, and this National Park is one of them. This Park has its schedule of buses that conducts many trips in a day. If you are lucky, you can grab a seat in those buses. However, prior booking is always required. Apart from that, you can enjoy the view of this National park. Secondly, we would be visiting the Mattupetty Dam. Established in the year of 1953, this Dam is one of the most important hydroelectricity conservers in Kerala. The views around the Dam are amazing, and you can stop for a moment to take a picture of the mesmerising mountain range in the background. Next, our stop would be the old Munnar Town. Seized under the colonialism, the old Munnar town is something worth paying a visit. You can take a peek of the culture of the people of Kerala, and you can also visit the old town market as well. For those who have shopping in mind, you can shop your heart out in this market. And with the old town visit, our Munnar sight-seeing would be over, and we would head back to the hotel again. The 2nd day of Kerala would be spent in Munnar.
  • Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady
  • From Munnar to Thekkady, it is almost 100 kilometres, and it takes almost 4 hours to reach there. Thus, after having breakfast in Munnar, we would be leaving for Thekkady. The long drive from Munnar to Thekkady will help you to catch a glimpse of the Western Ghats range. By the afternoon, we would be reaching Thekkady. You can relax for the day at our designated hotel in Thekkady, or you can enjoy the traditional backwater boat ride in Periyar. Periyar is the most famous place in Kerala. However, it is optional, and the facility is available depending upon the direct payment. Also, if you want, you can rent a boat in Periyar and spend the night there as well.
  • Day 4: Thekkady to Kumarakom
  • After having breakfast in Thekkady, we would be leaving for Kumarakom – another backwater beauty for you to enjoy. Here, you can choose how to enjoy your day. You can opt for staying at the backwater boat, or you can take a walk among the natural greeneries of Kerala as well. However, the backwater experience of Kerala is something you should not miss out at all. The 4th day of Kerala would be spent in Kumarakom only.
  • Day 5: Back to Cochin
  • Kumarakom is the last day of the Kerala trip. After having breakfast here, we would be transferring you again to Cochin from where you can take your designated train to flight back to home safely. As a short trip to get you out of your monotonous life, Kerala is always the best choice. You can freshen up your mind and fill your heat with pure oxygen air. Kerala sure is the queen of South India.
