Itinerary
  • Arrive at Yangon International Airport and get transferred directly to your hotel for check-in
  • Airport to the hotel will take around 45 minutes
  • Juice/water bottles will be served at the coach itself
  • Lunch will be at local restaurant
  • In the afternoon, travel to visit the amazing Shwedagon Pagoda - believed to be the most sacred Pagoda in all of Myanmar is a 326 feet structure gilded with gold plates
  • This amazing structure built by the Mon people of ancient Myanmar was initially built around the 6th - 10th AD is now one of the most important landmarks in the city of Yangon
  • In the evening, return to the hotel for an overnight stay at the hotel
  • After an early breakfast, set out for your travel to Mandalay (by 8 am sharp)
  • The distance is about 630 kms and it will take about 9 hours for the journey
  • On the way, halt at Mile Marker 39 for tea/juice and washroom break
  • Halt at Mile marker 159, there will be an option for washroom break and fruit, juice and refreshments
  • The next stop will be at Mile Marker 200 “famous” restaurant for lunch
  • The final halt will be at around 262 Mile marker for tea/juice and washroom halt
  • After this, reach the hotel at Mandalay and check-in
  • The distance to Mandalay from Yangon might seem to be great but the plain and well-made national highway stretching all the distance along with the pristine natural beauty lined around the roads will make it a really pleasant drive
  • Overnight stay in Mandalay
  • After breakfast, set out for a full-day Mandalay local sightseeing
  • First head out towards Mandalay Hill (EF) which is at a height of 240 metres (790 feet high)
  • The route up the hill is a one-way road and you will be taken up to the summit by local open-roof tempo type vehicles (which seats about 6-8 people)
  • Mandalay Hill has been a Buddhist pilgrimage site for many centuries and the city itself gets its name from the Mandalay Hill
  • At the top of the hill is the Sutaungpyei (literally meaning wish-fulfilling) Pagoda, which presents a panoramic view of the entire Mandalay city and the nearby Irrawaddy river basin
  • You will then be able to visit the Kuthodaw Pagoda which is said to contain the largest book in the form of inscriptions on marble kept inside 1774 smaller kyauksa-gu (stone-inscription caves).
  • After this, visit the Mandalay Palace (EF)—the last royal palace of the Burmese monarchy and built around 1857-1859
  • The palace is surrounded by a large moat and the buildings inside the fort wall have been well preserved for tourists viewing
  • You will now visit the majestic wooden Shwenendaw Monastery - built around 1878
  • The monastery is known for its teak carvings of Buddhist myths, which adorn its walls and roofs. The monastery is built in the traditional Burmese architectural style.
  • After this, head out for lunch at a local restaurant in Mandalay
  • You will then visit Mahamuni Pagoda (EF) which contains a large deified image of Lord Gautama Buddha himself
  • After this, you will be able to have your lunch at local restaurant
  • You will then directly travel to U Bein Bridge in the late afternoon
  • With a length of about 1.2 Kms and built around 1850 AD, this teakwood bridge crosses the entire span of the Taungthaman Lake and is considered one of the oldest such bridges in the world which is still surviving
  • Tourists can walk-over the bridge on foot and get a lovely view of the sunset
  • Guests will also be able to check the local market nearby for gifts and/or souvenirs
  • Guests will have tea/juice near the U Bein Bridge
  • In the evening, return to the hotel, have dinner and stay overnight
  • After an early breakfast (by 7-7.30 am), check out from hotel (within 8 AM)
  • After this, you will travel directly to Bagan (185 kms, 4 hrs)
  • On the way, halt at Myngian town for tea/juice and washroom break
  • After reaching Bagan, have lunch at a local restaurant and then head out for a half-day sightseeing
  • You will be able to visit: Ananda Temple which is considered to begin architectural work of art and is certainly one of Bagan’s most gorgeous temples
  • Constructed in an earlier “Mon” style, Ananda houses two distinctive Buddha images
  • Also explore Investigate Nanpaya Temple, one of the oldest temples in the region. Nanpaya is reputed to have been built in the 11th century by the Mon King Manuhaand has several Buddha images
  • In the late afternoon, you can head out to the sunset spot to get a magnificent view of the sunset over the Bagan landscape
  • Old Bagan is an archaeological site which consists of over 4,000 pagodas and shrines which are dotted over the landscape
  • In the evening, return to the hotel
  • Have dinner and overnight stay at the hotel
  • After an early breakfast, travel directly to the capital of Myanmar “Nay Pyi Taw” 270 km (approx 4.5 hours)
  • Naypyidaw is the modern capital of Myanmar (Burma), north of former capital, Yangon
  • En route the journey, you will stop over for tea/juice at one of the highway side restaurants
  • Traditional tiered roofs crown the buildings of its Parliament (Hluttaw) complex
  • Exhibits at the National Museum (EF) include Burmese art and ancient artefacts
  • In a nearby enclosure are white elephants, once prized by Burmese royalty
  • Lunch will be at a local restaurant
  • After lunch, head out for a Safari Ride
  • The Naypyidaw Safari Park (EF) is a wildlife park located in Naypyidaw, Myanmar (Burma)
  • The park consists of a 35.1 acres (14.2 ha) Asian safari, a 3.53 acres (1.43 ha) Australian safari and a 59.64 acres (24.14 ha) African safari
  • Visitors can see the wildlife by buggy
  • In the evening, check-in to the hotel, have dinner and retire for the night
  • fter an early breakfast, proceed to Yangon
  • It will take around 5.5 hours to travel a total distance of 375 km
  • En route, stop over for tea/juice and washroom breaks at local Highway side restaurants
  • After reaching Yangon, visit Chauk Htet Kyi Pagoda
  • Make sure to pay special attention to Buddha’s feet when you visit this pagoda, as 108 unique symbols represent the former lives of Buddha before attaining the enlightenment
  • You can also visit the Ngar Htet Gyi Pagoda, which is located across to see the statue of the sitting Buddha
  • In the evening, return to the hotel, have dinner and retire for the night
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel
  • Head directly to the hotel for your onward return journey home
