National Rail Museum:This unique museum has a fascinating and exotic collection of over 100 real size exhibits of Indian Railways. Static and working models, signaling equipments, antique furnitures, historical photographs and related literature etc. are displayed in the museum. The line-up of old coaches includes the handsome Prince of Wales Saloon, built in 1875. Not to be outdone is the Maharaja of Mysore's Saloon built in 1899 with its brocade covered chairs and an elegant rosewood bed; one can peer in through the windows for a good look. 5. National Rail Museum: Want a mini train tour around a museum full of preserved locomotives? Well, head to the National Rail Museum where you will get just that! This brilliant museum is situated at Chanakyapuri and bleeds the railway heritage of India. This 10 acre museum has outdoor as well as indoor exhibits featuring the Electric locomotive 4006 built in 1930, A Beyer Garratt 6594 Engine, a Patiala State Monorail System amongst endless others. The most unique and antique rail engines or locomotives can be found here. A true preservation of our world-renowned railway network, this museum displays railway artefacts along with historical pictures while offering a toy train ride and boat ride: a one-stop spot to gather all the history and pieces of information related to Indian railways.
Oh I loved this place! Came here after I saw this place in Ki and Ka trailer and I was like, okay I have to go here anyhow! and I made it! This is the place that gives you entire information on Indian Railways. Should you know the effort and you would stop littering in the Indian Railways! My respect for the IR just went above all levels of respect! Thank you IR!
Our next stop was Railway museum, I'm found of railways and it's evolution from British time. It's well explained and all the vehicle used earlier are shown in a good condition. I Would only recommend to the people who are fond of it or else you will get bored. Had lunch @3.30 at canteen of Rail museum, food was good and it was worth spending each penny.
