Known as the steel city of Orissa, Rourkela makes for an unconventional holiday. Amidst its concrete jungles and bustling city life, Rourkela houses a number of destinations that are worth a visit. One of the most popular destinations is Vedvyas, which is the confluence of the rivers Koel, Sankha and Sarasvati. An air of serenity hangs in the air that makes Vedvyas a humbling spiritual experience. In contrast to the calm waters of Vedvyas, the gushing Khandadhar waterfall is a thrilling sight to see. Rushing from the nook and corners of the rocks above, Khandadhar is indeed beautiful. Another famous spots here is the Hanuman Vatika, which along with its beautiful gardens also houses an enormous 75 feet tall statue of Hanuman. Rourkela can be reached via buses as well as trains, and is well connected to most parts of the country.
