Hello Everyone,
Welcome back and in this blog I am going to share my itinerary to Malaysia under 50K from India. I went to Malaysia from Hyderabad.
We booked a flight with clear trip, it cost me 34000 round trip (couple). I had a flight at 11:55 PM from Hyderabad to Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia. We reached Kuala Lumpur at 7:00 AM. (Terminal 2)
Done with immigration within 20 mins. We need to walk a long way to reach the immigration counter. After immigration, we took a sim from the airport
it costs RM 29 for 40 GB with unlimited hotspot for 30 days (all sims don't come with a hotspot option, check and take).
We took a bus from the airport to KL Sentral. We booked bus tickets using the Redbus app.
Note: After booking tickets you need to go to the online printing counter and collect the physical ticket which costs (RM 1 per person). It is better to carry a credit card as they mostly prefer cards for payments. Enable tap for international transactions.
After reaching KL Sentral (around 1hr journey) we kept our luggage in lockers (RM 20 per day - Medium-sized bags ) and went to Batu caves. Our hotel check-in time is 2 PM. We have a few hours on our hands so to not waste time we went to Batu caves by taking the KTM komuter line from KL Sentral round trip cost RM 5 per person. 35 mins journey.
We went to darshan and spent 2-3 hours. It was lunchtime and went to an Indian restaurant nearby.
We returned to KL Sentral by 3 PM and took our luggage. We booked the LRT line metro from KL Sentral to IMBI station. We checked in at 3:30 PM.
After fresh up we went to KL Tower, we had already booked tickets for Skydeck/Skybox. In Kuala Lumpur, we used Grab to book all our cabs. It's cheap, best, and quick here.
After reaching KL Tower we showed our ticket on the phone and first we did a Tower walk and then went to Sky Deck. It was a nice experience. After that, we went to a restaurant near our hotel and finished our dinner.
We woke up at 8 AM, freshened, and went to KL Sentral from IMBI (the nearest metro to our hotel). Today we went to Genting Islands from KL Sentral (RM 10 per person and it depends on the traveler you book. I booked Aerobus and it's cheaper than others) for all the bus bookings I used the Red Bus app. Our journey started at 10:15 AM and the journey was so beautiful with so much greenery and mountains. Reached Genting by 11:30 AM. We directly went to Awana SkyWay Station which was on the top floor. Our tickets were prebooked from Klook. I will post all costs at last.
Always better to book tickets online instead of booking from counters. It saves a lot of time.
This Skyway journey (ropeway) was very nice. We got down at the first stop - Chin Swee Caves Temple. (don't skip this place). From the stop to the temple, we have many escalators so, no need to walk much. There was a big Buddha statue and one tower. We spent 30-40 mins here and started our journey to the top station.
Genting is the different world they created. Here you see one of the world's largest hotels. Genting is all about the theme park, shopping, food, and casino. We just roamed all over the place and had lunch in one of the Chinese restaurants but we didn't like the food.
Note: No bags allowed into the Casino, you can drop your luggage at lockers and it costs.
We returned our journey to the base station and booked our bus to Pudu Sentral. From Pudu Sentral we went to Petronas Towers, KLCC Suria towers. You can visit observation deck at Twin Towers, as we did in KL Tower so, we skipped it here, but you can go and visit here too. Both will be different experiences. If you have time you can visit Aquarium near Suria towers. We just did window shopping in and around those towers and back to hotel.
Langkawi Time - Its one day trip from KUL to Langkawi.
We woke up at 5 AM, got ready and went to KUL Airport by taking bus from KL Sentral. We reached airport by 7:30 AM. Our flight was at 9:30 AM and we reached Langkawi by 11:00 AM. We took a grab from the airport to Langkawi Cable Car.
It took just 15-20 mins from the airport. We had pre-booked Skycable tickets already so, we went to the ticket counter and collected handbands. Luckily there was no rush at that time. Our first stop was Eagle Skywalk. We spent 30 minutes at this place, took a few pics, and continued our journey towards Sky Bridge. One of the scenic beauty on our trip. The Sky Bridge was massive and built very high. Once we reached Sky Bridge station we took Sky Glide to reach Sky Bridge but it's better to avoid as we can easily walk by taking steps. While coming back we choose steps. We spent around 40 minutes here. At Eagle Skywalk and Sky Bridge stations, there will be eatery shops. We came back to the base station by 1:30 PM. Here we had lunch in Kashmir Restaurant and had some souvenir shopping. After shopping, we went to Tanjung Rhu Beach for a boat ride. We took a private boat for 2 hours and visited Monkey Spot, Bat Cave, Crocodile Cave, Eagle Spot, Fishing farm, and Kilim Geoforest photo spot. The ride was fun. We came back to the starting point, booked a cab, and reached to airport by 6:00 PM. Our flight was at 8:00 PM and we reached KUL by 9:15 PM. We booked a bus from the Airport to Pudu Sentral. At Pudu we had our dinner and reached our hotel.
on Day 4 we went for shopping. First we went to Low-yat mall. It was very near to our hotel. All types of electronics you can get here. Best deals for laptops at this place. Then we went to Sungei Wang Plaza, this one is beside Low-yat mall. We did some shopping here and went to Pavilion Mall. This one luxury mall where you can see all the luxury brands around the world, Don't miss this place. Then we booked grab and went to Petaling Street Market. It's shopping heaven for handbags, shoes, hats, watches, T-shirts, backpacks and souvenirs. Street food also available here. Back to hotel.
We woke up little late today. We went to near by restaurant and had breakfast. It's checkout time. We paid 100 RMB when we checked in. It's a caution deposit, most of the hotels do it. We showed our paid receipt at checkout time and receptionist returned our 100 RMB. We reached KL Sentral at around 11 AM. We did some last moment shopping here. We did our Lunch at this station. Around 4 PM we took bus from KL Central to KUL Airport. Before our security check we used our priority pass and had some snacks in lounge. Then we printed our boarding passes and went to security check. Our flight was at 9 PM local time, we reached Hyderabad around 11:30 PM.
Tips:
1. If you have time and want to save money then try to book flights from Vishakapatnam. (if you are from Telugu States). You can get cheap flights.
2. Take sim from airport itself. More or less cost will be same from city.
3. Take bus rather than metro from airport. It cheaper. If you stay near Pudu or Buking bintang area then better take bus to Pudu station. From there you can easily walk to Pudu area or Bukit Bintang area.
4. If you are going to Langkawi then try to reach skybridge cable station by 10-11 AM to skip rush.
5. If you want to exchange currency in the city then you can get best rates in Low-yat mall (as per my experience).
6. Better book all entry tickets online to skip the lines. Use Klook app/site to book
7. You can book buses in red bus app and for cabs use Grab.
8. You can use credit cards here simply activate international transactions and tap & pay options. I used one card and charges are 1% on all transactions.
9. Lounges are available before security and after security check at KUL airport.
Below are my bookings from Klook.
Trip Cost Approx (per person)
1.Flights - Rs.17000 round trip to Malaysia and Rs.3000 round trip (Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi).
2. Hotels - Rs.6000 for 4 nights (for 2 people)
3. Food - Rs. 6-7K per person.
4. Activities - Rs. 7-K per person.
5. Transportation - Rs.3000 per person. (we used Grab,Redbus and Metros)
